HORIZONTAL SHEAR STRESS

The Horizontal Shear Stress is (usually) a maximum at the neutral axis of the beam. This is the contrary of the behavior of the Bending Stress which is maximum at the other edge of the beam, and nil at the neutral axis.

For design Engineers term “Horizontal Shear stress” is very important.
